Thank you! Interestingly enough I have similar photos from my first trip to Paris. I just loved this spot so much I had to go back. And I hope it warms your heart to know I was thinking of you and your Thursday blog around every corner when I was taking these photos. 🙂

Door knockers in Europe are fascinating. I want to know the history of each one I see. Is it there to scare off evil spirits, to wish good luck, or some other purpose? Or is it just to provide a means of letting inhabitants know someone is visiting? My favorite was the face. –Curt

Wow, Paris really has been a rich source of inspiration for you! It makes me realise how much I must have been dashing around the place on previous visits… next time I’ll be sure to slow down and take a proper look at the doors. Thanks for sharing your pictures… I especially love the sad lion door knocker!

I love how you recognize the places. That’s the one. I love it there. No bands. Just people enjoying coffee and galleries. It was still a little cold yet for outdoor music.

Well. I have walked and walked those streets since before you were born. Glad you got a chance to see the Place des Vosges. This was THE place in the timea of Louis the 14th. Today is sunday. You guys stayed home this weekend?

Let me see ir I can send you a few pix from today. Will remind you of something. Actually walked to Republique today. A non event. The monument will be cleaned of the tags. Still a couple of lunatics speaking in a microphone. I must confess I passed a few streets away from the Bataclan. I have very mixed feelings about all that. 🤔but at the end of the day, Paris is so beautiful, no-one will defeat it… 😁👍

It is overwhelmingly positive for sure. It is unfortunate that there are a few bad corners at the moment. That will likely get better as time goes by.

They sure do! At great expense to deliver them there from wherever they normally reside I’m sure. But, they look like they belong motoring along the shores of that beautiful alpine lake.

Have you been there? I spent a couple of days two years ago for a mountaineer reunion with my old european colleagues, hte ones i climber Mont-Blanc with. One of them is Italian, he has a house on Lago di Cuomo. Green with envy. 👀

I have been. Maggiora and the third too. One of the best trips of my life. I still need to dig up old paper photos and blog about it some day. It’s been a while and I would love to go back.
