Sometimes a once useful thing becomes more interesting as it decays…
This post was inspired by Norm and his Thursday doors! I was hoping he might get a kick out of my original take on the idea. 😉

Colorful! Old vehicles make excellent subjects— much better than there newer cousins in my opinion. And old trucks and old barns go together. –Curt

Well, stand by for two more posts coming shortly, one in black and white and another which seems to be even more colorful. Somehow, I think you would have been right at home at this place taking photos alongside me. It was fun and weird and interesting all at the same time. Turns out barn find cars sitting rotting away in to the landscape for 30+ years made good homes for rats and lichen.

The old ghost towns such as Bodie and Rhyolite usual have some fun old vehicles as well. We have a twisted old vehicle just up the hill from us that was once connected to a long ago mining operation. Looking forward to your posts. –Curt

I’ve been to Bodie but I’ve not been to the other one you mentioned. I have to go sometime. The ground and see if I ever posted photos from Bodie or not. I don’t recall. We stopped on the way back from Utah. Really special trip. Have a good weekend. Thanks for the comment always.

Very cool. O love the first window shot and the one of the dinner setting and the one of the morgue. I don’t even remember seeing all of that when I was there. I looked back on my blog and see I never posted my photos from Bodie. Perhaps I will need to do that one of these days. I know I took a lot of photos of the cars and farm implements there. I don’t remember now what else…and it wasn’t even THAT long ago.

The shots are simply gorgeous. Yes decay can be a beautiful thing at times and you’ve captured it wonderfully here.
So glad you joined us this week 🙂

Those doors need some lovin’, although I imagine they were well-loved in their day.
