People ask me all the time why I like to photograph flowers so much. It is a way to make something whose beauty is fleeting live on forever. I can look back at these photos and think of this flower, this moment, this petal, this light forever. It’s unnatural for something to live forever yet I try to do so anyway.
I too enjoy photographing flowers, but never questioned why I find it so enjoyable. Such delicate beauty that lasts a short time.

So well said. The thought always passes through my head as well. Every photo captures a moment in time, and flowers more so than most. –Curt

And the older I get the more I see places changing too. (And some staying exactly the same)

Nicely put and shot. When I see a 19th century photograph of my – then – ten-year old great-grandmother, I see that photons have been stopped and captured that day forever. 😉
