The wide open walls mural festival did a spooky number on this building. I couldn’t help but submit for Norm 2.0’s Thursday doors. U for unusual. Would you like to see the rest of the building? Click here to see the other walls! For more Thursday doors please visit Norm 2.0’s awesome website!
Sometimes I wonder how long this street art will last. How long until it’s disturbed or defaced? How long until a building is sold and it’s painted over? I suppose what matters is the here and now and enjoying it while it lasts. Watch it age. Watch it change separate from a museum where art … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 – Midtown Sacramento faces and emotions
Wide Open Walls 916 festival brings art to the city large and small. These two really spoke to me. Attached to a school I had to try and capture their angles. I remember making shapes like this with string and pens when I was a child. These were probably my favorite for this visit downtown! … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 – Circles and Squares
Whenever something brings me downtown it’s always fun to try and find some new murals. After a few years of the festival murals are everywhere ripe for the picking. Murals wrap every side of this building making it far more interesting than it likely was before! Do you have any good street art where you … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 – Sacramento larger than life
Quick errands to downtown Sac allowed me the opportunity to visit a few new murals from the Wide Open Walls 916 festival in town. I love how they bring life to an otherwise boring and dirty and uninteresting wall or alley. The Auto Museum mural was still under construction when I happened by. Enjoy!
Wide Open Walls 916 festival is in full swing over here and I am loving this larger than life mural. A separate artist has filled in each letter making them fun and distinct. And I happened by while artists were working on the C! I have a feeling this wall will be iconic for years … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 – California!
The Wide Open Walls festival is in full swing in Sacramento again for 2019! This one isn’t so much a wall but I love the rainbow colors! This new addition has an interesting take on a “wall.” It’s right smack in the middle of a new housing development who has chosen to retain a few … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 @ The Mill
The Wide Open Walls 916 festival is about to kick off again in Sacramento and I’m totally excited! I very much enjoyed visiting the various locations throughout Sacramento since last summer mural viewing and can’t wait to see what the artists come up with for this year’s festival. The art freshens up boring or run … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916
I stopped by CSU Sacramento for a visit to another Wide Open Walls Street Art piece. I’ve seen photos of this one all over social media and finally made it for a visit! It’s pretty iconic for the city, the wide open walls project, and the university. It seems to me that this wide open … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 -Sacramento State
Over the summer a really exciting street art event (Wide Open Walls 916) came to Sacramento which painted the walls…literally. It took a seemingly benign wall or building and turned it in to something amazing. I posted previously on some great selections from the event located in downtown Sacramento. I was so impressed I decided … Continue reading Wide Open Walls 916 Sacramento-Del Paso
