The Wide Open Walls 916 festival is about to kick off again in Sacramento and I’m totally excited! I very much enjoyed visiting the various locations throughout Sacramento since last summer mural viewing and can’t wait to see what the artists come up with for this year’s festival. The art freshens up boring or run down buildings. It gives people an excuse to visit buildings or parts of town perhaps they wouldn’t normally. It freshens up areas of town and brings new energy. Somehow it makes me feel like my humble town has “finally arrived!”
Stay tuned for new murals big and small! Click here for previous posts on lots of exciting local art.
Love it! Thanks for posting. —Curt

Do you ever make it through town anymore?

I was just down there three weeks ago. My sister and Peggy’s sister still live there, plus I have several good friends in the area. We were down there to celebrate locating a picnic table at William Pond Park in honor of Peggy’s parents right next to the pond under the shelter if you are ever over there. For several years, I would take Peggy’s dad, John Dallen, for a hike at the park every Wednesday. –Curt

That’s wonderful. Thanks for sharing. I do get down there actually. And I know the spot.

Great stuff! I’d missed that one. Did your dog pose for the mural? 😉

How is she? Getting used to her new life with a pack of energy running around?

She is good. Getting older and less tolerant. She gets anxious sometimes with lots of movement or noise. But she eats her tail at my son so hopefully she likes him. She stole a toy from him the other day and he didn’t know what to make of that.

She may have been playing? “Eats her tail”? You mean “wag”?
