It’s that time of year again where mother nature is toying with us by giving us a few nice weather days. But, experience shows we have some more wet weather and snow before it’s all said and done. I am grateful for the reprieve. Cheers everyone.

That photo was taken at Johnson Springview Park just down Rocklin Road from the college

Don’t think that park was there when I went to Sierra, which was the year the year the campus opened. 🙂

It may have still been open space. It’s very pretty. Did you hear Sunset Whitney golf course is now a city park?

Next time I’m around there I have to take a look. I also lived in Rocklyn for a short period of time in the late 70s. And no, I didn’t know that the golf course had become a city park. –Curt

If you come wait for spring or fall. It’s pretty dry and yellow in the summer. (Speaking for both Johnson Springview and the gift course.)

I still have friends living in Placerville but no family living in the area. How long has your family been there? I was there from 1944 to 1961. –Curt

They came around that time but they were cattle people not gold miners. They homesteaders property in pollock pines, el dorado, and up above sky park. Nielsen is their last name.

The only Nielsen I remember form high school was a Dave Nielsen, a really nice guy. I spent a fair amount of time in ElDorado. As kids we used to chase the cow herds that were Brough down from the mountains in the fall into ElDorado. There was a reservoir in the town that we hung out in spring. The Se Rancho Drive In where I watched some of my first movies (and went on some of my first dates. And of course there was Poor Reds. –Curt

It’s all a matter of light. As long as there is light, the cold doesn’t matter. Little C. loves exploring, right?
