One of the many things that make Paris interesting and different than a lot of other places is its Passages. These passages connect streets together though either covered or uncovered passages. Some of them show a lot of age and heritage where others are industrial and stark. Any opportunity we got we walked through them just to see what we encountered as we walked through them and to experience what we would find on the other end.

Sounds great. Excellent exploration! I would Love to do this. Hopefully once I retire at the end of 2018 I can take a trip to Paris, France in the Fall of 2019 and actually experience the wonders of Paris for myself!! Cool!!

It’s an easy trip to take. You could combine it with a trip to the French countryside. I actually find it prettier and more interesting than Paris. But, everyone should see Paris at least once!

Some good spots there. Are you put off travelling to Paris and France in consideration of all the recent violence?

No. As a matter of fact my family wasn’t terribly excited about me traveling to France. But, I try not to worry too much about it and just be aware of my surroundings. Not gonna let a bunch of bully weirdoes keep me from travellin’! Although, having said that it’s pretty sad what keeps happening almost daily throughout the world. What about you? Is it starting to get to you?

Thanks. So glad you enjoyed them. There are plenty more. I was trying to capture the pretty ones that didn’t have too many people or garbage cans or other to ruin the photo.

Always intriguing… like the walkways on the Greek Islands, literally begging for exploration. Or even some of the alleys in foothill towns of California. –Curt

I love passages – there are numerous passages in the Netherlands too. I guess it is more common in Europe than in the US.. Beautiful images!

Funny I’m not sure why they don’t have more here at least on the east coast. They seem functional and interesting.
I’ve never been to the Netherlands. Need to go some day.

Thank you! I feel the same way. Some the present was more sweeter than others. 🙂

It’s interesting to so many places on a “personal scale” in such a big city. Glad that you got to explore them.

Passages are a remnant of the 19th century. Some have been well restored. You have taken advantage of every minute of your days in Paris! Well done

Almost a little too much. Could have used a little more time eating cheese in a cafe somewhere. But, it was wonderful. It always is. 😉
