This will be my last installment for Tomales Bay until I have the opportunity to visit again which I suspect will be sooner rather than later. 😉 Driving through Inverness on my way to the Tomales Point Trail Hike I HAD TO STOP when I saw this grounded ship. Google tells me that this ship was wrecked and the owner always intended on fixing it but it soon became a roadside attraction. I was there at the right time because the lighting, the sun, and the reflection were ideal. This was the first photo of the day, which as many photographers know, makes the rest of the day icing on the cake. I am often terribly critical of the photos I take and this one is no exception taken only with my iPhone and not my “good camera.” However, I love this photo and can’t stop looking at it. I hope you enjoy it too.

Agree! Love that image of the wrecked boat with the reflection. Right place, right time and I would not have guessed the photo was taken with your phone. Shh! Don’t tell anyone 😉

Ha thanks! It becomes apparent when you blow the photo up on your big screen. Should have taken out my good camera but I was on a mission to get somewhere. 😉

That photo is outstanding!! I’m so glad you love it, and I’m glad you had to stop and take the photo. As you say, everything is perfect. (except not having your good camera on you) Neat back story too.

Thank you! Glad you enjoy. I’ve been back already once since I took that photo and got one with my son in front of it. The tide wasn’t the same though despite being the same time of day. Hope you are well.

Oh I’m glad your son got to see the shipwreck. What did he think of it? As a kid, I would have been fascinated. Yes, we remain well here. You are all doing ok?

He thought it was pretty cool. He was more interested in stomping in the water. He did ask a lot of questions about why the boat wasn’t in the water and if we should repair it or not. We are holding steady over here waiting for vaccinations. Thanks fir asking!

Great photo, Jenny. Perfect for Tomales Bay. The combination of the fishing boat and its reflection put me right on the Bay. –Curt

It is a very, very good photo. The tool (or camera) is not as important as the eye and the hand. 👏🏻

Sometimes we just getting lucky being at the right place at the right time. I drove by again a few weeks later at the exact same time and the tide was totally different so it didn’t work.

Exactly. Ten minutes later or earlier doesn’t work the same. Which is why I love carrying the Iphone everywhere.
