This art wall reminds me of some of the Impressionism I have been fortunate enough to see in museums throughout the world. I wonder what the great artists would think of all of this temporary “graffiti art” on walls and buildings? I would like to think they would be right up there with scaffolding doing it themselves. What do you think?

Sacramento continues to encourage and promote it’s Wide Open Walls art festival. This colorful wall spoke to me as I am always partial to rainbows and color flows like this. Funny enough this was shot as only part of the wall. I preferred this simplicity to the other part of the wall which had the actual substance to it. Art can speak to us in many ways.

I love this mural. It’s bright and fun and iconic and perfect for the university. I could do without the parking signs obscuring it but that’s neither here nor there. For more Wide Open Walls new from this summer click here!
The wide open walls mural festival did a spooky number on this building. I couldn’t help but submit for Norm 2.0’s Thursday doors. U for unusual.

Sometimes I wonder how long this street art will last. How long until it’s disturbed or defaced? How long until a building is sold and it’s painted over? I suppose what matters is the here and now and enjoying it while it lasts. Watch it age. Watch it change separate from a museum where art of preserved forever. Here is a collection of people and faces and art that evokes some emotion. Happy Monday everyone. 
Wide Open Walls 916 festival brings art to the city large and small. These two really spoke to me. Attached to a school I had to try and capture their angles. I remember making shapes like this with string and pens when I was a child. These were probably my favorite for this visit downtown! Enjoy. 
Whenever something brings me downtown it’s always fun to try and find some new murals. After a few years of the festival murals are everywhere ripe for the picking. Murals wrap every side of this building making it far more interesting than it likely was before! Do you have any good street art where you are?

Quick errands to downtown Sac allowed me the opportunity to visit a few new murals from the Wide Open Walls 916 festival in town. I love how they bring life to an otherwise boring and dirty and uninteresting wall or alley. The Auto Museum mural was still under construction when I happened by. Enjoy! 
Wide Open Walls 916 festival is in full swing over here and I am loving this larger than life mural. A separate artist has filled in each letter making them fun and distinct. And I happened by while artists were working on the C! I have a feeling this wall will be iconic for years to come.
The Wide Open Walls festival is in full swing in Sacramento again for 2019! This one isn’t so much a wall but I love the rainbow colors! This new addition has an interesting take on a “wall.” It’s right smack in the middle of a new housing development who has chosen to retain a few of the old mill related items from before its redevelopment. I love the fresh look and imagine it will be iconic for the area. Cheers!
