It’s tulip time in my backyard! Ever since visiting Monet’s Giverny outside of Paris and also Crystal Hermitage in the Sierra Foothills and having my Tulip mind blown I have wanted to plant some of my own. I kind of went nuts last fall and planted an enormous amount. Here is one of my favorites for spring. Sending you sunshine and light from sunny California.

I adore tulips and when we lived in Illinois, I must have planted well over 100 bulbs leaving me with a perpetual smile on my face each spring. Once we moved west, my ability to grow tulips was pointless due to elevation and weather conditions. No such thing as too many tulips … enjoy!

Quite gorgeous! Daffodils, poppies and irises are speaking of spring here. They certainly remind me of California. 🙂 No tulips, however… –Curt

Not quite yet, Jenny. But soon! There are some large, beautiful lupine plants that live along the Applegate River in front of our house. We pass by them on our daily mailbox walk when they are blooming! And yes, memories of the foothills. 🙂 –Curt

Soon, Jenny, soon. 🙂 Which made think of Daffodil Hill. I googled it and saw a message it was closed for good as of 2021. Sad, but I also read that people were having to wait up to four hours to see it and it was clogging the foothill roads. –Curt

We probably bloom early compared to them (hotter and lower here) so I’ll bet they are starting now.
